Plans for the first dining establishment to open at the Hudson’s site have been released — and the project is decidedly a blast from the past. Pine Hall, opening on the 12th floor rooftop of the Hudson’s Block Building this spring, is a tribute to The Pine Room, the restaurant that occupied the 13th floor of the J.L. Hudson Company department store in the 1930s, explained hospitality magnate and Shake Shack founder Danny Meyer, whose New York-based Union Square Hospitality Group has teamed up with Bedrock to develop the bar.
