A remote, historic ranch in eastern Oregon is in need of a summer caretaker, and they’re currently accepting applications.
The Bureau of Land Management announced Monday that it’s in need of a short-term caretaker this August at Riddle Brothers Ranch on Steens Mountain in southeast Oregon.
Officials said the paid position, which will last from Aug. 7 to 31, includes rustic lodging and requires “interacting with travelers.”
“Whoever lands this unexpected opening is truly lucky,” Kyle Wanner, BLM Burns District Assistant Field Manager, said in a news release. “It is a unique and hard to come by experience.”
