It's 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 to walk away from an encounter with Pulitzer-prize winning composer Tania León unchanged. Tania visited Detroit this week to prep the DSO premiere of Pasajes, a DSO co-commissioned work presented as part of New Music USA's Amplifying Voices program. From collaborating with the orchestra, guest conductor converseconductor, & DSO Assistant Conductor nazirmcfadden to meeting with WSU composition students and our own Civic Youth Ensembles musicians, Tania's insistence on keeping an open heart and experimenting inspired everyone in the hall.
