This weekend, have a French #DetroitDay inspired by the DSO's opening classical program ๐๐คโค๏ธ
1. Debussy's "La mer," 9/30-10/2: hear the colors of French composer Debussy's sonorous evocation of a day at sea played by your Detroit Symphony Orchestra. This season-opening program, led by Music Director jaderbignamini, features pianist Emanuel Ax playing Chopin, & a new work by composer Michael Abels.
2. barpigalle: make reservations to enjoy modern French fare at this new Brush Park restaurant housed in a beautiful historic building. Brush Park was once known as "Little Paris."
3. diadetroit: view #VanGogh in America. In February 1888, Van Gogh moved to Arles, a coastal town in the South of France. During this time he produced a series of works inspired by the Mediterranean Sea including "Fishing Boats on the Beach at Les Saintes Maries-de-la-Mer." On view through January 22, 2023.
