Coney Island Hot Dogs is set to open a new restaurant at 7733 Ulmerton Rd Ste 3. An opening timeline is still TBD, but the restaurant will serve John Morrell all meat hot dogs — and they serve both short and “World Famous” foot-long hot dogs.
The menu features shoe string fries, chicken wings, fried fish boxes, loose meat sandwiches, char grilled burgers, and of course a bevy of hot dogs. In addition to their foot-longs, they also have signature offerings such as the Reuben Dog. This variety is made with spicy brown mustard, 1,000 island dressing, and melted Swiss cheese.
The original Coney Island Drive Inn was founded in Brooksville in 1960 by Darrell and Gertrude Todd. Legend has it that in 1961 Elvis Presley paid a visit to Coney Island while filming a movie in Inverness.
