Ahead of Juneteenth and as part of our Champions Project, Maxwell Woledzi and Shak Mohammed spent time at the National Museum of African American Music, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the many ways African Americans have shaped the soundtrack of this country. Through interactive exhibits spanning genres like gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, NMAAM tells the story of Black artistry and its lasting influence on American culture.
We're proud to spotlight the National Museum of African American Music as a true champion of the community, preserving history and inspiring the next generation through music.
