Four Detroit mayoral candidates made their case to become the city's next top leader during a live, televised debate on WDIV-Local 4 on Monday, pledging to build on the momentum of the last decade but also highlighting why they are uniquely qualified. The debate, in front of an audience at Wayne State University's Valade Jazz Center, included a narrower field of candidates than previous forums, and some tackled the inexperience of specific opponents or what sets them apart from the rest of the field. The mayoral candidates included Detroit City Council President Mary Sheffield, former City Council President Saunteel Jenkins, former Detroit Police Chief James Craig and Rev. Solomon Kinloch.
