Hey y’all, today is my due date — and he’s here! Meet Baby Brandon James, born January 30th. I was induced the evening of January 29th with the plan of delivering on the 30th — which *did* happen, but not at all how we thought it would. In the early hours of the morning, our guy made his entrance into the world via emergency c-section due to his heart rate dropping lower and lower during my contractions. After a slow labor progression, it all happened so fast. But we’re eternally grateful for the swift action of our care team (“the squad” as I named them) for getting our guy out safely. He spent the day in the NICU and not holding him for 12 hours felt like an eternity, but it made it that much sweeter when I finally did! So relieved to be home now and to have a healthy baby. Taking it a day at a time on my recovery over here but one thing is for sure: We can’t stop staring at him!
