Arrivederci! 🇮🇹 The last day of my time in Abruzzo was the perfect way to bid the region farewell.
We spent the day at cantina_zaccagnini (located in Bolognano) and cataldi_madonna (located in Ofena). Both have distinctly different wines, but what resonated with me the most were the family connections, that multigenerations work together to preserve the legacy, and how the baton is passed down to the next generation when the time comes.
For Giulia at Cataldi Madonna, that was in 2018 and it was so badass to see a young woman at the helm.
The wines…incredible. It’s awe inspiring to sip Montepulciano and Cerasuolo *IN* Abruzzo, and each winery has their own unique take on them. Same goes for Pecorino. I will be sharing more on each varietal in future posts and some other Abruzzo knowledge — stay tuned 😉
What else can I say? My first time in Abruzzo will not be my last — and maybe next time, you’ll be savoring the sights and sips of some amazing wines with me. 🍷✨
