It’s #NationalCognacDay, y’all and I’m here once again encouraging you to give it a try. Cognac is a beloved spirit over here, and the more and more I learn about it (and taste it), the more it becomes a preference over other ‘dark’ spirits.
Have you still not tried a sip? Well, here are five reasons to give it a go.
▪️Cognac is a brandy, made from white grapes. If you’re a wine lover, you owe it to yourself to try it!
▪️While it is a brandy, Cognac is unique, and can only be made in Cognac, France.
▪️Cognac is aged in French oak barrels - and has to age for at least two years minimum. If you can find a a few
▪️Cognac is great in cocktails! Try it in beverages you’d usually enjoy with other darker spirits like whiskey (think old fashioned, Manhattan, sidecar)
▪️Or enjoy it on its own, too! Cognac is divine when sipped neat and you’re able to really experience the flavors and complexities of different labels/aging.
Have you tried it? Will you try it? Tell me what kind of flavors ...
