Caught between a rock and a hard place, George makes a knee-jerk decision to detonate the bomb then and there, in the middle of nowhere. He drives away as far as possible before whipping out the detonator and detonating the bomb. We see his face light up as the bomb explodes. Meanwhile, Archie, Wes (Caroline Quentin), Greta (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir), The Dane (Lukas Loughran) and Blake (Lorn Macdonald) detect nuclear activity in Romania. Archie calls George as he drives away from the blast, the mushroom cloud a fiery spot in his rearview mirror. He explains that he lost Shiv after the latter shot him in the shoulder. Archie gets him back to London on a private plane, the last available flight. She informs him that he’ll have to answer many questions when he returns home.
