Cal South’s AVSC Storm Red won the 15U Boys title this morning at the 2023 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, being held from July 7-11 at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas.
AVSC Storm captured a National Presidents Cup trophy with a 1-0 shutout of the Carol Stream Panthers Academy of Illinois. Cal South's other team in today's Finals round – Necaxa USA – were defeated 3-2 in their bid for a national title by Miami Lakes United of Florida in the 13U Boys match. LAPSL, Cal South's third team at the event, made it to Monday's Semifinals round, but lost 3-2 to New Jersey’s J.A.E. Academy.
The USYS National Presidents Cup featured boys and girls on regional Presidents Cup champion and finalist teams in the 13U-19U age groups. Each of the teams from Cal South affiliate member clubs earned their spots in this year’s National Presidents Cup by capturing a regional title at the 2023 USYS Far West Presidents Cup in Boise, ID three weeks ago in June.
