From his parents’ fourth-floor kitchen window in Kyiv, photographer Yevhen Kotenko kept returning to the same park bench. Over nearly a decade, he photographed the people who gathered around it, talking, resting, meeting, and moving on. The bench stayed in place while the life around it changed. His series On the Bench turns one ordinary corner into a record of time, community, and the neighborhood where he grew up.
