My political shero is my sorority sister, late Congresswoman Barbara C. Jordan. I'm ecstatic to announce that I was awarded the inaugural Barbara C. Jordan Award for Excellence in Government Service at our Sorority's Regional Conference this past weekend. The award is given to an extraordinary member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. who’s serving the nation and empowering her community through government service—a Delta whose life exemplifies that of Congresswoman Jordan. Without firsts like her the trail would remain unblazed! #cd30 #delta #congress #likeagirl #congresswoman #ebj #repebj #eddiebernicejohnson #herstory #glassceiling #txlege #dallas #texas #dallastexas #southdallas #tarrant #fairpark #progressive #girlonfire #dc #washingtondc #trending
