Eight years ago today, Sandra Bland was killed by state-sanctioned violence. Black women and girls, too, experience police brutality, and other forms of violence including patriarchal, intrapersonal, and domestic violence. Unfortunately, their stories often go unheard with minimal media coverage. This erasure is a form of violence itself. Today, we lift her name and honor her memory. #SandraBland
