Where does the fat come from for facial fat grafting?
One of the most common questions I get about facial fat grafting is where we harvest the fat from.
My preferred area is the upper inner thigh, where we can often find soft, high-quality fat that is ideal for restoring lost facial volume.
Through a tiny 3 mm incision, I typically harvest just ¼ to ½ cup of fat, which is often enough for full face fat grafting. The incision is closed with a small amount of tissue glue, and most patients notice little to no change in their thigh contour.
A small amount of fat can make a beautiful difference in restoring natural facial volume.
