A “cobra neck” deformity can be one of the more challenging problems to correct after a previous facelift.
This patient had undergone a facelift years earlier and, with postoperative healing and continued aging, developed significant irregularities through the neck. This type of deformity can occur when too much fat has been removed and the underlying platysma muscles have not been adequately addressed.
For her revision, I performed a fully released deep plane face and neck lift to release and reposition the tissues and restore a smoother, more natural contour.
And at 88 years old, her age did not define what we could accomplish. Her anatomy, overall health, and individual surgical plan were what mattered.
