One of the most common questions I receive is why my patients often have less bruising and swelling during the first week after surgery.
It isn't because they're having a less extensive procedure. In fact, I perform a comprehensive deep plane face and neck lift with complete ligament release and full midface mobilization.
I believe there are three key reasons:
• Stable blood pressure throughout surgery with local anesthesia, without the blood pressure spikes that can occur after general anesthesia.
• A meticulous, tissue-preserving surgical technique that minimizes unnecessary trauma.
• Local anesthetic medications that help reduce bleeding at the tissue level.
Together, these factors often lead to less bruising, less swelling, and a smoother recovery.
