That tiny incision under the chin is doing far more than most people realize. It is not where skin is removed. It is an access incision that allows me to address the platysma muscle, create support under the chin, and contour the deeper neck structures that shape the neckline and jawline. In a deep plane facelift, this step is foundational. By tightening and recreating that platysmal sling, we can support the lift from below and create a sharper, more defined neck and jawline. In select patients, this incision also allows for precise contouring of deeper fat pads, and sometimes very targeted liposuction. What it is not for is pulling skin forward or removing skin under the chin. A beautiful neck result starts deeper than the skin. What other beach walk topics should I cover next?
