Filler for Marionette lines - the lines extending from the corners of the mouth to the jawline are one of the most common complaint areas I see. These lines are caused by gravity over time leading to descent of facial tissues. Filler in this area is controversial, as it does not correct the underlying problems of skin laxity and volume descent. If poorly done, filler in this area can make the lower face appear bulky and unnatural. But I do believe there is a role for filler in patients with mild to moderate marionette lines who are not quite ready for a facelift. I use a specialized technique to soften these lines without over-volumizing.
