Hundreds of desmoinespublicschools staff will take part in training aimed at improving security this school year in the wake of school shootings. Des Moines School Board unanimously approved a contract with Navigate360 — an Ohio company that focuses on threat detection and prevention, and mental health and wellness training in schools — during Tuesday's meeting. The $175,000 contract includes training staff and materials. Contracting with Navigate360 is one of many changes Des Moines officials are making in response to several deadly shootings on properties connected with the district and a ransomware attack in early January.
