75,000 rubber ducks go for swim in Chicago River in annual Ducky Derby for Special Olympics šŸ„šŸ¤©šŸ˜ šŸ’”75,000 rubber ducks will be dumped into the Chicago River on August 10th (from 10 am to 2:30 pm) for the duck derby, an annual tradition which fundraises for the special olympics. The ducks will be released into the river at 1:00 PM sharp. For each duck that is purchased, the proceeds support the special olympics. The entire derby is regulated in a way which minimizes contact with the environment- there is a netting which prevents the ducks from drifting away from the derby into the Chicago river and the entire event is entirely cleaned up just 10 minutes after the start time of the race. Anyone is able to attend this free event! 🐄 šŸ·ļø Tag someone who needs to know about this!šŸ˜ Credits to visuals.by.jack šŸ“ Chicago,Illinois #specialolympics #chicagoriver #chicagoriverwalk #chicagotradition #chicago
