Today, it is not as clear as it should be and that’s a problem. ⁣ ⁣ Deep sea mining is threatening the fragile and yet untouched biodiversity of the global oceans. The problem is the International Seabed Authority, the intergovernmental body that is supposed to protect the seabed, maintains close ties with the deep sea mining industry it’s meant to regulate. ⁣ ⁣ Our governments, as members of the International Seabed Authority, need to reclaim the power that belongs to them and shut the door to the deep sea mining industry.
