Goleta Sanitation District's Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) in California has successfully reduced surfactants in their wastewater treatment process by 50%.
Surfactants, commonly found in soaps and detergents, can pose challenges in biological wastewater treatment.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the WRRF faced higher surfactant levels, leading to operational upsets.
From Moleaer’s Water Process Engineer John Crisman: “GSD is saving money, but that's only one aspect of how nanobubbles changed things. The plant’s stabler and increased its organic capacity, offsetting capital expenses."
