Yesterday I was on being interviewed for two upcoming podcasts hosted by iamannedferguson and musingsonother and the question came up about why we need diversity in the media so I thought I’d share this little reel in the meantime. When you withhold your story from the media you’re doing the media a disservice because you’re allowing the same people and the same stories to get in and its creates an echo chamber. BUT when you share your story you’re giving permission for other people to share their story also. Sharing your story is NOT just about you and your business. It’s about being a leader and paving the way for others to read something relatable to them and even tell their story too. Stop thinking the media is for celebrity types. Most journalists are interested in real stories from real people. So contribute to the media ecosystem and so much will come back to you!
