10 artists from across Canada are taking part in the #CreateSpaceResidency to develop their public art portfolios and create artwork in their communities. In BC, we’re welcoming Ovvian Castrillo Hill (she/her) who’s working with the City of Fort St. John (fsjcity)! Trained as a designer, art writer and consultant, Ovvian (ovvian) began sculpting in the Philippines under the tutelage of her father and Filipino fine artist, Eduardo Castrillo. Her work can be found in Metro Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, USA and Canada. Interested in public art for your city with an artist-in-residence? Get in touch with us to start the conversation - link in bio! 📸 Rosa Anna Castrillo — The CreateSpace Residency is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts (canada.council) and TD Bank Group (td_canada) through the TD Ready Commitment. We also acknowledge the support of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation (crrf_fcrr) with funding provided by the Government of Canada.
