A short documentary highlighting the different newborn screening laboratories withing the North Carolina State Laboratory of Public Health that perform testing on the bloodspot cards sent in for every baby born in North Carolina. This testing can identify many genetic or metabolic disorders which early detection has the potential to be lifesaving. This film shows the positive impacts of the newborn screening program for the citizens of North Carolina.
