Manatee mating season in Tampa Bay ❤️🔥 If you spot a herd of manatee near the shore, there’s nothing to worry about. Manatees frequently mate in herds most often during the summer months. We recently spotted a herd near North Shore Park - and herds have been spotted all along the waterfront. Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office wrote the following: “We get calls all the time from citizens when they see this, believing the manatees are in distress. We can assure you they are more than fine. Manatees actually mate in herds like these and often they are near the shore. So if you see this, there’s no need to call, they are a-okay!
