Orchard Beach might be the best public beach in NYC 🏝️ This 115 acre beach was once known as as The Rivieria of New York and is in the Bronx. The space has 26 basketball, paddle board and tennis courts, picnicking with bbqs and more. It is the only public beach in the Bronx. I went on a weekday this week and it was clean, pretty quiet, and has a beautiful waterfront with calm waters (great for swimming!) We also went to nearby to City Island which is known for its great seafood spots and small town feel. It’s super easy to get to by car (only 25 min from Manhattan) or takes an hour by public transportation depending on where you live.
