Join gettyarchive this week for a takeover from david.corio celebrating 50 years of hip hop.
Making his debut with the NME in 1978, David was soon shooting for The Face, Time Out, and Black Echoes, specializing in music and portraiture. Major music, news and lifestyle publications were to follow, with his photographs exhibited in museums across the world.
Having lived and worked in both London and New York throughout his career, he has captured hip hop artists and culture as it developed on both sides of the Atlantic, a body of work appearing in 1999's "The Black Chord: Visions of the Groove : Connections Between Afro-beats, Rhythm & Blues, Hip Hop, and More".
