It’s really great to be back, a thread.
I’ve been playing baseball for 28 years. It has been a relationship that has seen every kind of twist and turn imaginable, love and hate, pain and healing, joy and crushing defeat. Most other guys in the league have similar stories. It’s simply a game, that if you play long enough, will teach you resilience like few other things can.
So when a month ago, when the idea of picking up a baseball became one of those big obstacles, I was shocked to find a new challenge that I had nothing in my toolbox for. The car had smoke coming from the engine, and continuing without addressing it was no longer an option.
So I did the work, and will continue to do so. There may come a time where I talk more deeply about that work…
But for now, I just want to say that just so happy to be on a field again, around my teammates and coaches again, and to wear the uniform with my name on the back.
Thank you to my family and friends. The support has been like water...
