Thousands of runners converged on Bayshore Boulevard Saturday for the rungasparilla 15-kilometer and 5-kilometer races.
For the second time in three years, Phil Parrot-Migas (photo 1) won the men's 15-kilometer race. The 29-year-old Ontario resident coasted to the victory in 46 minutes, 18.12 seconds.
St. Petersburg's Christina Welsh (photo 2) won the women’s 15-kilometer title in 54 minutes, 42.79 seconds. The USF grad student will attempt a twin bill of titles at Sunday's half-marathon.
Dylan Nolan, a 16-year-old junior at Clearwater Central Catholic who lives in Oldsmar (photo 3) won the men's 5-kilometer race with a time of 16 minutes, 24 seconds.
Katherine O’Sullivan-Sams, a 36-year-old golf pro and mother of two, won the women's 5-kilometer race (photo 4). O’Sullivan-Sams — who grew up in Scotland and now lives in Venice, Fla. — finished in 17 minutes, 57 seconds.
