C1C Megan Craven, CS-40, is from Vienna, Virginia, and wanted to follow in the footsteps of her grandfather, who served in the Army Air Corps and later the Air Force.     “I always knew I wanted to fly like him, and the Academy seemed like the best way to get there,” she said.     She’s a Behavioral Science major and the captain of the USAFA Equestrian Team. Her horse, Shady Money, is stabled here and together they compete in Western and English events like barrel racing and jumping. She said the recent Rodeo versus Equestrian Team showdown was one of her most memorable times at the Academy – the Equestrian Team won!    Her biggest advice for cadets and future candidates is to have good time management from the start.     “Old habits are hard to break, so if you begin your cadet career with the right mindset and schedule, the rest will fall into place,” she said. “But don’t forget to look up sometimes to have fun and enjoy the amazing opportunities around you.”    Megan said the Academ...
