So if you're a hockey player who wants to skate faster then here's an exercise that will create balanced hip strength which is critical for multi-directional movement patterns. It also improves hip mobility and trunk stability. β

1οΈβ£ Grab a weight and start with both feet shoulder width apart in a ΒΌ squat position.β
2οΈβ£ Load the left leg (80) and stride the right out at a 45 degree angle. Tap or float over the floor while majority of the weight stays on the left leg. β
3οΈβ£ Pause at a 45 degree angle and horizontally push weight out from chest, keeping shoulders back, core tight and left leg strong.β
4οΈβ£ Float right leg back to starting positing and simultaneously pull weight back towards chest. β
5οΈβ£ Repeat all reps on one side before switching to the other. β
Ensure the supporting (left) knee does not collapse. β
