Take our #Ceramics: Form over Function ⚱⚱ this Spring~ offered to grades (9-12) in this HSS class, students will build upon the functional purpose of ceramics to create meaningful ceramic objects. . Students will engage in a universal art practice that cultures from around the globe have practiced for thousands of years. Using historical references as a starting point, students will create personal artifacts that focus on concepts specific to contemporary culture. Students will become familiar in working with form as a metaphor to extend beyond functionality. Throughout the course, students will gain proficiency in using a variety of hand building techniques and explore different methods of glazing. .
