MICA Animation students at NASA! ⭐🌌🚀 Last month students in the Astro-animation class got to visit and tour the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's campus! Our Astro-Animation class combines animation with astrophysics and is jointly taught by an animator (Laurence Arcadias) and a NASA astrophysicist (Robin Corbet). Early in the class a group of NASA scientists presents their latest research findings, and our students then animate the research during the rest of the semester in ways that can be whimsical or poetic, as long as the animations remain faithful to the underlying science, the students may whatever technique they wish to display, such as 2D, 3D, or stop motion. Three weeks later, the students conduct their first tour of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center @nasagoddard campus and pitch their ideas for the #animations, show #animatics, and #storyboards.
