The woman everyone calls Yaya recently turned 105. 🎁🥳 Tampa’s Idelisa Oliviera — who also goes by mamá, hermana, tía and bisabuela — was surrounded at home by loved ones, homemade Cuban food, cake and presents.
Born on Aug. 15, 1916, in Oriente Province, Cuba, Yaya was the seventh of 15 children. Her mother lived to be 92, a sister to 99 and another sister to 103. Now, only one sister, 97, is alive.
We, of course, had to ask Yaya her secret to a long, happy life. Her reply: “Don’t smoke, don’t drink liquor.”
“And have a good daughter,” added her only child from the kitchen.
