Over the weekend, Tempe unveiled the new City of Tempe Girl Scouts patch, the first city-specific patch in the state! The patch was designed by Girl Scout Lyla Dye, who won a citywide patch design contest. Hundreds of Girl Scouts attended the event and completed one of the tasks to earn the patch by touring the Tempe History Museum. Councilmember @doreengarlidtempe and @gsacpc’s Director of Program Dr. Amanda Hofmann Handy greeted the Girl Scouts and troop leaders. To earn the patch, each Girl Scout must complete at least one activity in each of four city-specific categories – history, government, community and sustainability. Learn more at the link in our bio.
