(Part 3 / 4) Soon after her sister in-law passed away, Rahinata was accompanying her mother to town when she saw a large crowd of students forming at her community’s primary school and went to find out what was going on. Rahinata quickly learned this was an information session about The Sonder Project’s ‘Education Is Power’ program offering sponsorships for the upcoming school term. She excitedly registered her name for consideration, and, after a few weeks of passing through all phases of the selection process, Rahinata was accepted into the program. “When I got the news that I was selected, I felt like a huge load was lifted off my chest. I told myself that I was being given the opportunity to become somebody in society.
