The journey of a patient family can be long and life-changing. Inspiring stories of hope and healing are part of the 21st annual Radiothon benefiting Children's on kat1037, continuing today into Friday!
Jeremiah is an 11-year-old Children's patient who was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, hypoplastic left heart syndrome, in utero. Since birth, he has been treated by our pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery experts and underwent his first heart surgery at three days old. After a six-week stay at Children’s, his cardiologist saw signs of heart failure, and Jeremiah eventually received a successful heart transplant in 2012. Now an energetic fifth grader, Jeremiah participates in flag football and wants to begin saxophone lessons. Thanks to the care of Children's Criss Heart Center team, athletics and activities are now a possibility for this amazing young heart warrior.
