Kicking off day 2 of the kat1037 Radiothon with more inspirational stories from our very own patient families. When 13-year-old Landon and his family received his stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis in May of 2022, their world soon became a blur of appointments, treatments and hospitalizations at Children’s. Landon remained positive and courageous—and he quickly became a strong advocate for himself, saying that his trust in Children’s oncology team empowered him to ask questions and communicate transparently with his care team. Landon finished his final chemo treatment in October of 2022, where he was declared cancer free and clapped out of Children’s infusion center by his family and dedicated care team. As he reflects on that day, he says, “It felt like I had finished a marathon.” To celebrate, Landon’s family surprised him with a golden retriever puppy named Luna—one to remind him of Children’s therapy dog, Frito, who made his inpatient hospital stays special.
