Every team has friends or family cheering them on from the sidelines, but only one team could call upon the otherworldly power of the 15th Annual Hoagiefest® at this weekend's Icarus Cup. Wawa United, formed in Princeton in 2017, took part in their second Icarus Cup this weekend, calling upon talents from as far afield as Scotland and the Netherlands in their run to the D4 semi-final. When asked what Wawa order would sum up their Cup run, captain Jonny Hopcroft said, "It would certainly be toasted, because we nearly lost half of our team to heatstroke on Day 1. I'd definitely put some juicy roasted peppers in the order, so it starts fresh and ends up falling to pieces by the end." Despite the tournament not ending in silverware, it was only fitting that team Wawa would book their place in the semis against a team sponsored by none other than Pat's King of Steaks. The Philly sandwich-appreciating community held their breath in anticipation.
