ETBU Softball started a pen pal program in the Fall of 2020, during the COVID shutdown. We had the unique opportunity to write a number of children who were confined to hospitals and not allowed visitors at the time. Since then, our program has expanded and we have had the opportunity to write over 100 children. Some who have been dealing with illness, some the loss of a family member, some struggling with school, and some are just children that love building a relationship with a college athlete. Each of our players will have at least one pen pal that they share their college experience with and keep them up to date throughout the year.
