Wrongful imprisonment is a serious issue. 2,551 exonerees are still imprisoned to this day. UCSC's class, FILM 171S-02: Making an Exoneree, covers this exact topic 🎥✊ Film and Digital Media Professor Sharon Daniel co-teaches this course with Professors Howard and Tankleff, allowing 15 UCSC and Georgetown students to reinvestigate the original crime and conviction, documenting the main issues, challenges, injustices, and human stories in each case 🔍 Five groups of students working closely together in teams of six (three students from each campus) on five different cases of wrongful conviction.
