(Part 1 / 3) Andrew Chazama is one of the students in our ‘Education Is Power’ program from the community of Kasikidzi in Malawi. He is about to start Grade 11 and his third year of sponsorship. Getting to this point has been a dream come true for Andrew, but just two years ago he had lost much of his hope. His parents, Robert and Loxina, are subsistence farmers who survive solely on ‘piece works’, working on a local landowner’s tobacco farm, and were not able to afford school fees for all of their 9 children. Andrew’s tuition was regularly paid by his older brother who worked for a businessman in Lilongwe, the capital city. However, when the businessman unexpectedly passed away, Andrew’s brother suddenly lost his job and could no longer support Andrew with his education. --- #EducationIsPower #SustainableDevelopment #CommunityEngagement #CommunityDevelopment #RuralDevelopment #EducationalDevelopment #InternationalDevelopment #Malawi #SonderProject #ChildrenAreTheFuture #Inve...
