Everyone will tell you that it's important for a hockey player to be flexible and mobile and that you should be stretching. But what they don't tell you is that, just like strength training, your mobility exercises need to be hockey-specific. Look at the areas of the body that are directly related to how you move on the ice. The shoulders for example, are essential for puck handling, shot power and shot accuracy. Tight, rounded shoulders will usually result in a forward head position which will diminish your game vision and increase your risk of injury.
