Children's renovated 5th floor in Wiebe Tower re-opened with a fresh look this week! Among its many updates, the entire unit received new paint, flooring and decor to match the neighboring Hubbard Center, as well as behind-the-scenes upgrades to improve the Med/Surg experience for patient families and team members alike. The floor also houses Children's Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), now expanded to meet the growing needs of epilepsy patient families. The EMU includes six dedicated rooms equipped with state-of-the-art video electroencephalograph (vEEG) monitoring equipment and will be staffed with a specially-trained team, including three epileptologists, advanced practice providers, hospitalists and EEG techs. The EMU offers patient families quicker access to the full scope of care to assess seizures, as well as pre-surgical evaluation. #TheVeryBestForKids
