Been getting a lot of questions about how I light my talking head setup. Here’s how I have it rigged right now: (Also, I’m always experimenting and switching things up w/ lenses, lights, angles, intensities, white balance, etc. so things may change from video to video) Main Key Light: Aputure 300X – I love this light because of how quiet it is, has temperature and brightness adjustment as well as several different pre-programmed FX. I keep this at an angle, and generally just above or at eye-level since I wear a lot of caps, I don’t want my eyes hidden by a shadow. I have this light at around a 7% brightness and temp at 6000K. Venetian Blinds Effect in Background – This is an Aputure 120D with an Aputure spotlight attachment. The spotlight comes with “Gobos” which you can insert into the light which cast different shadows.
