Once in a Super Blue Moon… Tonight’s Moon is a Blue Moon because it’s the second full Moon of this month. This Blue Moon is also special because it’s the nearest supermoon of 2023. This means that this year’s Blue Moon is also the closest and brightest Moon of the year!
It’s not usually blue in color. If it’s blue in color, it’s because it’s artificially colored to match the context. I also added Saturn because Saturn is close to the Moon tonight. If you’re in the northern hemisphere, you’ll see Saturn above and to the right side of the Moon as a dim star. This is the last Super Blue Moon until 2037. [📸 @rami_astro ]
