Congratulations to Joveline Alice F. Alvarez and Martian Binonwangan, Jr., on receiving the prestigious Dean’s List Award at the 2023 FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas – an international competition for youth robotics – which was held back in April. Today, we presented certificates to the two outstanding individuals during a small ceremony held at the Mo‘ikeha Rotunda. Joveline, a junior at Waimea High School and team member since 2019, was declared a finalist at the FRC Hawai‘i Regional Competition in late March. She is a member of Kaua‘i’s all-island FRC Team, the KauaiBots (Team 2465). Martian, a junior at Kapa‘a High School, and robotics team member since 2018, was selected as a finalist at the FTC Hawai‘i State Championship in January, as a member of FTC Team 13088, the CyberSaints. This is the first time any Kaua‘i student has ever won the award, or has been named a finalist. Congratulations to Joveline and Martian on this significant achievement! We send our best wishes...
